Willowgate trout fishery- This is Dave Mc Neilie bending into a fit rainbow tonight at Willowgate. He and a pal were visiting us for the first time today and were both enjoying great sport on deer hare emergers. The water is gin clear at the moment and the trout are readily coming up to feed on the surface making for some fantatic sport. Thanks for coming along guys and hope to see you again soon.

Willowgate trotu fishery- We are always delighted to see new anglers fishing with us. If we can help you with some casting tuition or help you catch you're first trout please ask us for help. It was great to see some new anglers out by themselves today catching trout. Our new weed boat (below) has been a great success. The water is very clear again as nighttime temperatures begin to fall into autumn. Its a great time to stalk a trout with nymphs or dry fly.

Willowgate trout fishery- This is our new weed boat pictured in operation. This will help us control aquatic vegetation in the pond during the summer much more efficiently. Willowgate is fishing very well just now with great catches being made. As water temperatures begin to drop into Autumn the trout become even more active. Look out for some big catches during September.

Willowgate trout fishery- There is still great rises all through the day with dabbler, bibio and hopper patterns becoming more effective. We have also puchased a new weed boat with will be launched and operational on the pond this week.

Willowgate trout fishery- Good fishing today on Willowgate with some rods recording 11 and 12 fish on catch and release. Below is Willowgate's Mike Hay into a trout after a busy shift in the cafe kitchen. Lots of blue trout being caught just now with dawls bachs featuring heavily in returns.

Willowgate trout fishery- Here is regular Jimmy Alexander bending into a trout today on buzzers. After extensive weed cutting lots more water has been opened up. Small amounts of weed cutting will continue over the next few days. The water is crystal clear again so come and try to stalk one of our double figure rainbows.

Willowgate fishing school- Sandy Rankin had a great day during a day of salmon fishing tuition. He quickily mastered spey casting and during a couples of breaks from the fly fishing landed 2 sea liced salmon. Both were returned. Willowgate trout fishery- Extensive weed clearing

Willowgate trout fishery- Willowgate is fishing its head off with big catches every day. You can expect some great rises of fish during any time of the day. Also we have undertaken extensive weed clearing this last week. August and September are the months when the weed gains its greatest biomass in the pond but we are all dedicated to keeping the pond open to anglers during this period. This process is part of managing such a fertile body of water. The fish love the weed as its cleans the water and lots of food for hungry mouths but it has to managed.

Willowgate trout fishery- This week Willowgate has been fishing its socks off with 2 30+ hauls on catch and release plus many more big catches. There have been great hatches and rises all through the day with dawl bachs, GH nymphs and cdc's being most effective. We have also undertaken entensive weed removal this week opening a lot more water up to lure fishers.
