Willowgate trout fishery- We are enjoying some good hatches of sedge all through the day so give the dry fly a try with small sedgehogs and cdc's fooling the trout regularly.

Willowgate trout fishery- Hard fighting rainbows in the clear water
Willowgate trout fishery- The trout are fighting hard in the clear water. Some big catches are being made with some doubles starting to show up in catches. Frank Williams landed 14 on catch on release on Saturday with the biggest estimated at 12lb. The quality of the blues being landed are excellent with fully finned 3-4lbers being caught regularly. Check your knots regularly because our blues are vicious fighters.

willowgate fishery -Cooler Weather
James Litster and Martin Smith show how it should be done in some chilly conditions at the Willowgate. James (above) landed 29, Blobs and Bugs were the order of the day whilst Hares Ear, Bronze Bear and Yellow Dancer proved successful for others. Our weed boat has been out again and the weekend looks promising.

Willowgate trout fishery. Our new weed boat continues to be put to use on the pond. It has been a great success at keeping the fishery productive during the peak weed growth season. We will continue to use regularly throughout winter.

Willowgate trout fishery- Dave McNeily and Billy Scott into fish
Willowgate trout fishery- Some action shots from today as Dave and Billy matched the hatch and got bent into some rainbows today at Willowgate. Tiny hares ears were doing the business with some success on dries in the morning. Other notable catches include John Milne (yesterday) with 15 and Mr Masterton(Saturday) with 16 on catch and release tickets.

Willowgate trout fishery- There are some very large trout being caught at Willowgate with doubles featuring regularly in catches again. As the water temp begins to cool the larger fish become more active and are contacted more often than during the summer

Willowgate trout fishery- 4lb rainbow as first fish
Willowgate trout fishery- A cracking rainbow caught today at Willowgate, not bad for your first ever fish. The loch fished very well today with trout rising steadily all day. The new weed cutting boat is working really well with only the top end of the loch needing work.
